In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) commonly referred to as IVF. It is the process of fertilization by manually combining an extracted egg and retrieved sperm in a laboratory dish. The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus.
IVF can be used to treat the following infertility problems:
- Blocked, damaged, or removed fallopian tubes
- Low sperm count or sperm motility
- Ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids
- Genetic disorders
- Unexplained infertility
